Adventist Missionaries to North America
North America is a vast mission field! Statistics tell us that North America has fast become one of the largest mission fields in the world. Recently, as I traveled by vehicle to the West Coast I amazingly met many people who were thirsting for the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Many people are thirsting for the Gospel truth right here in North America. As I met people, and shared the gospel with them as well as led them to Christ I was reminded of the profound need for Missionaries in North America.
In response to this need, a dream was placed in my heart by God and as a result: Adventist Missionaries to North America was birthed. A.M.N.A is a dynamic full missionary training program that prepares and fully equips those who feel called to be missionaries, to fulfill that calling right here in North America.
Listen to the words of Mrs. White as it relates to this:
“True education is missionary training. Every son and daughter of God is called to be a missionary; we are called to the service of God and our fellow men; and to fit us for this service should be the object of our education.”
Sounding the Call in New Places.--Our Saviour's work was to warn the cities and to ordain workers to go out of the cities to places where the light had never yet been given, and to lift up the standard of truth in new localities. . . .The light is given me that we must not have special anxiety to crowd too many interests into one locality, but should look for places in out-of-the-way districts and work in new places. Thus people may be reached and converted who know nothing of the precious, testing truths for this time. The last call should be made just as important in new places in this country as in distant lands. This word was spoken concerning some localities that have not had the message brought to them. The seeds of truth are to be sown in uncultivated centers. . . .It will cultivate a missionary spirit to work in new localities. CS
“Wake up, wake up, my brethren and sisters, and enter the fields in America that have never been worked. After you have given something for foreign fields, do not think your duty done. There is a work to be done in foreign fields, but there is a work to be done in America that is just as important.” Testimonies Vol. 8. pg 36
“There are thousands of places to be entered where the standard of truth has never been raised, where the proclamation of the truth has never been heard in America.” CS pg. 180
“Missionary families are needed to settle in the waste places. . . If families would locate in the dark places of the earth, places where the people are enshrouded in spiritual gloom, and let the light of Christ's life shine out through them, a great work might be accomplished. Let them begin their work in a quiet, unobtrusive way, not drawing on the funds of the conference until the interest becomes so extensive that they cannot manage it without ministerial help.-- Testimonies, vol. 6, p. 442.
“The lay members of our churches can accomplish a work which, as yet, they have scarcely begun. None should move into new places merely for the sake of worldly advantage; but where there is an opening to obtain a livelihood, let families that are well grounded in the truth enter, one or two families in a place, to work as missionaries.” ChS pg. 178
How it works!
A.M.N.A. prepares you by training you in three areas that are crucial in being effective as a missionary in North America. The first area of training is in church planting. As a church planter you will learn how to go into the designed area that God leads you to and build relationships with the others in a very intentional and winsome way. The church planter will follow the Simple Church model and will be trained by a Simple Church trainer helping to establish house churches in the assigned territory.
The second area of training will be in the Medical Missionary work. Each worker will be trained as a certified Medical Missionary. The work of a medical missionary is critical to the work of the gospel. As a medical missionary you will learn the skill of helping people become whole in mind, body and spirit. As people see their lives improve through this means they will be more open to accept the Gospel and live the abundant life that Jesus has promised.
The third area of training will be as a Bible Worker. This training will show you how to be an out of the box type of a Bible Worker. This will stretch you to discover and apply an approach to winning souls that focuses on relationship building as a means to reach the heart of others for Jesus. You will leave this certification training with the skills of how to effectively communicate the gospel through evangliving as well as effectively instructing others in the way of the LORD! The A.M.N.A. model is a unique one that equips you with counseling, transformissional as well as life, Health and Wellness & marriage coaching skills.
As an A.M.N.A. missionary we will train you how to raise the launching and monthly goals that are needed to engage effectively in your tour of mission work.
Areas in North America that presently have a need and you will receive training to do mission work in are place like Wyoming, Montana, Virginia, West Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and . . . even your own backyard!
